What about buying a part-time investment (to rent)?
Some sellers seem willing to sell his work for little $ $ just to get rid of it and maintenance costs. Some sale prices are exorbitant. Is there money to make buying (good location and good weather) strictly to rent to tourists? Opinions? Advantages or disadvantages? I mean a week part-time in resorts across the nation or internationally. The timeshare was connected to the house of a clearing-house timeshare. We "tank", belonging to our time (in Branson, Missouri) with them, then have access to hundreds of places and villages equivalent to ours, and at any time of year (subject to availability - which we have had good results). We traveled to Colorado, the beaches of Florida, Disney World, Riviera Maya, Tennessee, Canada, Washington, DC, Washington, and more. I guess we've been lucky so far. Go Italy in '09. Thank you very much. I found that it was not the best idea - I just wanted to hear more.
There is. Pro no disadvantages are that maintenance costs will more then you can rent for. It's even worse than simply washing your investment down the toilet you're stuck with rates that can not go! Almost any plan is better then that.
